Opening for Director of a Technology Accelerator (Palestine)

The Kaizen Company is seeking a seasoned entrepreneur with expertise in early phase technology startups. S/he would be responsible for overall leadership of a proposed technology accelerator pilot program based in Israel and the West Bank. The position will be for a term no longer than 15 months.

Desired Skills and Experience

Successful candidates will have at least ten years of experience in early phase technology companies (inception through to initial funding & launch) two or more should be with technology incubators/accelerators.

Additional Skills Include

Strong communications skills
Strong leadership and management experience
Experience coaching and mentoring
Extensive experience with web-based technologies
USAID Experience
Previous experience in Israel and West Bank highly desirable
Experience with conflict mitigation a plus
Regional language a plus
Responsibilities

The Director will be responsible for starting and managing a unique business accelerator program that will support young talented Israeli and Palestinian entrepreneurs.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

Designing and implementing a robust communications strategy to promote the program
Leading a team of up to six people to start and run the program
High level coordination with program partners
Designing and executing business plan competition
High level work shop and event facilitation
Linking program participants with potential investors
Ongoing mentorship of program participants
Managing relationship with USAID
Additionally, the Director will play a leading role in identifying potential sources of capital and working with Kaizen management to develop and implement a strategy for making the accelerator financially self-sufficient.

This opportunity is open to locals and locally hired expatriates. This position offers a competitive salary but will not offer expatriate allowances or foreign travel per diem.
