Driver Licence in Panama (Panama City)

Hi everybody, in a few months I will move to Panama City and I was wondering if some of the Spanish expats can help me in this question about my Spanish driver license, I write it in Spanish for a better understanding:

me traslado por trabajo en unos meses a Panamá y quería preguntaros si se necesita el carnet de conducir internacional, me han dicho que te sirve el español pero para tres meses y que luego tienes que exminarte allí. ¿Me podrías orientar sobre este tema?
