Flower and Coffee Fair in Boquete (13-23 January) (Panama City)

The beginning of each new year is always marked by the Flower and Coffee Fair in Boquete. This year it will take place from January 13 to 23. The popularity and significance of this event will be enhanced this year as it coincides with the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the District of Boquete in the province of Chiriquí.

This highland event is one of the most beautiful annual fairs in the country and it marks the beginning of the national fair season and the Panamanian summer.

Nestled in a valley in the foothills of Volcán Barú, Boquete is a popular vacation and retirement destination. Some call it the Switzerland of Panama and at 1,200 meters above sea level, chalet-style architecture, cleanliness and order, the description is apt. Swiss, plus cloud forests and the best coffee in the world. That takes some beating.

The “Feria de las Flores y del Cafe” showcases these two quintessential Boquete charms, in a ten day event which offers entertainment for all. It is centered around a lovely flower garden alongside the River Caldera and affords an opportunity to taste the different specialty coffees that are produced in the region.
