I just moved to Panama City in July and only recently set up an InterNations profile. I followed my Panamanian husband here after marrying him in June. I've lived abroad before, but this time has been quite a different adjustment; namely, I have no job here yet, and so time is heavy on my hands.
I am waiting for immigration to process my paperwork for legal residency and a work permit, but in the meantime, I would be more than happy to occupy myself as an intern or volunteer. If anyone has contacts or knows of any opportunities in development work (ie: Ciudad del Saber), please let me know. I am particularly interested in issues surrounding children, criminal justice, poverty, and women. I speak Spanish fluently. I would be extremely grateful for any advice on who I should get in touch with.
