Panama Pensionado (Panama City)

Hello, I'm a retiree considering moving to Panama (maybe Panama City or another large city in Panama) and qualifying as an expat to get a pensionado visa. As far as I know, I meet all requirements for the pensionado, However I have questions like: How long does it take to acquire the pensionado? Do you have to be living in Panama when you recieve it? How long do you have to be a citizen before you stop paying income taxes on your pension? Do they actually apply benefits that pertain to pensionado retirees without a lot of hassle?
