weather in Panama - Casco Viejo area (Panama City)

My husband and I are considering a move abroad. We are looking at Panama or Ecuador. Traveling up north in panama for the cooler weather seems very difficult to get to, there are no direct flights, via the USA. How is the weather towards Panama City? I know it gets in the 90's and there is humidity, but with the breeze from the oceans, does it make it more livable?
