Are there as many bars in Paris as there are pigeons? It depends on the neighborhood, that’s obvious but sometimes that is the impression you may have, as you come across “waterholes” (not always “joyous” for sure) planted on the sidewalks of the city, apparently waiting patiently for onlookers to come and booze, under the eager eyes of these new establishments. It was two years ago that we (TimeOut) had prepared a guide for you “100 bars of Paris”, but things change quickly, trends repeat without followers and neighborhoods, too, are transformed. So it was high time to revise our list. That's why we wanted to launch the Bar Awards. And this time, instead of us sticking to our own judgment we decided to appeal to you to decide the finalists. So here you will find ten thematic categories, in which, after a long deliberation, we will select five bars that best represent the different districts of the city and of different budgets. It's your vote for the best. We unveil the results as we go keeping the suspense and fun. Cocktails, wine, concerts, terraces, concepts, cheap,..... There will be something for every thirst.
