Are you supposed to tip your gardienne? (Paris)

I was wondering if you are supposed to give a gift to your gardienne or concierge for Xmas or the New Year? If so, how much would be considered the right amount? I know it's a tradition in other countries and I have found myself in the embarrassing situation of not knowing and therefore not giving, until the subject came up with a neighbor.
