moto insurance difficulties.. (Paris)

Greetings all..I seem to having a great deal of trouble insuring a motorcycle here in France. My American license, having recently been renewed, shows an issue date of last year, which French insurance companies view as having only received my first license on that date. Therefore as a "young" driver I am not insure-able. I am 56 and have held a license since Protected content have a clean record. How do I convince a French insurance company I am not the risk they believe I am? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
