Moving to Brittany (Paris)

Hi there
We are hoping to move to Brittany withint the next year. We are originally from ireland and have been living in NY for 25 years but are tiring of the american way of life. Our children are dual citizens as are we.
Any advice on how to adjust, schools, jobs etc. It will be the fourth country I have lived in, so I am accustomed to change, but the language will be a barrier in the beginning. The kids are 10 and 12. One is thrilled and the other is not so happy about the move.
We are jsut at that stage in our lives where we want to be closer to our family who all live in England or Ireland. And we want a change of pace. We were thinking of buying a Gite and starting out with that?
