I want to drive in Malaysia (Penang)

Hi ,
I am from India and hold an Indian Driving licence . I could not get my International Driving Permit from India. Is there a way i can get either a IDP or convert my Indian Licence here .

Well in short i need to drive . I went through many blogs and different websites give different information . I cannot go back to India to obtain my IDP :( And you guys know how grounded you are if you do not drive in Malaysia especially in Kulim :(
