The following early releases addressing changes to the Protected content regime have been published by Norton Rose Fulbright. They are offered only for information and do not represent advice:

Initial Release

On 18 April Protected content Minister Malcolm Turnbull announced that the Protected content will be abolished and replaced with a new Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa to better address genuine skill shortages and protect the Australian local labour force. The implementation of these reforms will begin immediately and will be completed in March Protected content . See:

Second Release

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on April 18, Protected content the Protected content will be abolished and replaced with a new Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa from March Protected content , the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) has issued further information on the upcoming changes that will impact the Protected content programme. Additional legislative and policy changes may also be released in the future. The Protected content programme (with some changes) will remain in effect until March Protected content existing Protected content holders will not be affected. See:
