Areas in Phnom Penh

Hi again everyone :)

As my plans ramp up for the move to PP I'm beginning to think about where I'm actually going to live!

My plan is to come out (tentatively 4 May) and stay in a hotel for a couple of weeks while I find somewhere more permanent. Last time I was there I stayed around Preah Sisowath Quay/Eastern end of 102. It seemed nice enough around there but that was a holiday rather than living.

When I'm actually living out there I'm going to need to be near a gym, shops, bars, etc. whilst still being in a 'safe' neighbourhood. I'd like to strike a balance too between living near other ex pats and still feeling like I'm a part of a different city and culture.

Any tips about good place to be focussing my search (or avoiding?!).
