Working for my Australian company from Cambodia? (Phnom Penh)

Hi everyone,

I am looking for some advice and trying to work out what I need to do. I'm moving to Phnom Penh in a month and planning on working from Cambodia for my Australian company. We are water quality consultants, who do work with water sampling, water quality management plans, Legionella in hospitals, water quality trainings and the like.

The sort of block I'm having is trying to work out if it is possible to do work for clients in Cambodia for this company in Australia.

Note that:
- I won't be earning any money directly from anyone in Cambodia - payment will go to Australia, and I will be paid in Australian dollars from Australia.

The intention has been to get a visa and work permit as a freelancer.

Do I need to set up the business in Cambodia to do work for clients in Cambodia for the Australian company? Or is it suitable to live and work as a "freelancer" for clients for the Australian company?

Any thoughts / help that can be provided on this would be greatly appreciated!
