Moving to States (Phoenix)

I just joined and not sure I belong. I, and daughter are US citizens but have not loved in the states. We are trying to see if we can afford to move there. I am retired and basically no income. I do have some money. I need to know what the basic cost of living is per month. We generally live quite basically. We actually turn lights off when they are not required. So, anyone that can advise me would be appreciated. Thanks
