Long-term visa, no need to work for US citizen? (Prague)

Hi all, I've read the articles on the site about visas, residency permits and work permits in the Czech Republic and understand that as a US citizen, the only way I would likely get a work permit is if I had a skill that was in demand and the need couldn't be met by a Czech or other EU citizen.

But am wondering if there is any way for someone with a retirement income...savings, pension, US Social Security, etc...and no need to work and equipped with private health insurance can get a long-term residency visa? Everything I read seems to be oriented toward folks who want long-term visas AND permission to work.I'm hoping this doesn't mean it's not possible to stay longer than 90 out of every Protected content .

Thanks for your assistance
