Research trip to SA (Pretoria)

Hi all,

I'm coming to Pretoria for a month tomorrow, to do research for my PhD. Since I don't know anyone, I was wondering if there are any Internations events planned this month, or if anyone would be happy to maybe meet up at some point, since it would be nice to have something else to look forward to than just work :) I'm staying close to the University of Pretoria.

Also, any advice on where to go, or not to go would be greatly appreciated. I have to go to Church Street for my field work, but was told that public transport and cabs can be quite unreliable, so I was wondering if walking would be the better option, or a very bad idea?
