Volunteer work for the whole family (Pretoria)

Hi,

We've just moved to Pretoria with my family. To get to know more about the society than just malls and secure estates, we'd like to start doing some volunteer work with a community NGO/charity that has a good reputation for reaching out to people in need.

I would appreciate suggestions from you who have experience from volunteering, is there anything we could do together as a family (husband and 2 small children)?
