The city of Prijedor is nestled on the banks of the Sana river in Bosnia- Herzegovina. The city has a continental climate with an average annual temperature of 11°C, and Bosnian, Serbian, and Croatian languages are all spoken there. Expect mild summers and winters, but prepare yourself for particularly hot and cold snaps as the temperature has been known to go below -30°C and above 40°C. Expats living in Prijedor have described the town as pretty, quaint, and colorful, with lush rural surrounds and a powerful and interesting history dating back to ancient times. The city is home to a plethora of cultural sites, events, and festivals throughout the seasons, including the ‘Day of Honey’ and the ‘Writers Gathering’ literary festival, which are particularly popular among the expatriate community. For sport fans in the local expat community, the multi-purpose Gradski sporting stadium is home to a number of teams, including Bosnia-Herzegovina's most distinguished soccer team.
