Making the Move (Quito)

Hi Everyone! I am about to graduate from a small college in the US and am hoping to spend the next year or two in Quito. I lived in Guayaquil for a few months two years ago and absolutely loved it, but I really enjoyed visiting Quito and would love to return. I am currently on a job hunt, but am getting some interest so I think that's a good sign, but I am nervous about renting a flat and getting around. Does anyone have any advice for good neighborhoods that would be relatively safe? Also, any other advice would be great. Thanks!
