Since moving to Warsaw, I have been able to make some great friends and attend InterNations events with other expats who understand what it's like to be so far from home.
Living in Radom
The riverside city of Radom is a small Polish city only 100 kilometers away from the capital, Warsaw - making it increasingly popular with expatriates in Poland. The city has a long and interesting history that dates back to early modern times, and many of the area's traditions and customs continue to this day. Radom is home to a number of museums, art galleries, parks and touristic buildings, including churches that date back hundreds of years and represent the rich heritage of Radom, seen in its architectural variety. Radom sees a number of festivals come and go each year, and is also home to a technical university and a number of language schools which are particularly useful to expats - in fact, many of the expatriates in Radom are language teachers. Expats living in Radom can connect with others living nearby and across Poland via the InterNations community - with over 1 million members, it's the largest global network of its kind, hosting forums and networking opportunities alongside a wealth of online resources for expats.

Moving to Radom
In terms of transport, Radom has a respectable bus network, and is an important rail interchange where east and west Poland meet. Expatriates can reach most major Polish cities with ease (including for example Lublin, Łódź, Warsaw, Kielce, and Kraków) and continue their journey into neighboring European nations. While the city isn’t serviced by an international airport, it is well connected by road to the military Radom-Sadków Airport, which hosts a famous air show, and has plans to be adopted for passenger use in the future. Nowadays, however, most expats in Radom travel to Warsaw for all of their international flights. The city is also surrounded by a lot of greenery and other delights of nature; one such place is for example nearby Zalew Domaniowski, a large lake for swimming, sailing, and water sports and as such a particularly nice place for expats living in Radom to visit during summer. If you are an expatriate considering moving to Radom, it is worth considering that this is one of the most inexpensive cities in the country.
Working in Radom
Once a major industrial hub, Radom continues some of its traditional industries to this day, including weapons manufacture, for which it is best known. Being one of the most inexpensive cities in Poland comes with major benefits to employers and expatriates in Radom, but can be an issue for expats looking for work in certain sectors, such as the service industry, where wages can be unsatisfactory. As such, it is more the language schools and technical university that employ a large majority of expatriates living and working in Radom.
