bringing my car to Latvia for a year (Riga)

I am considering bringing my ford fiesta over to Riga but need to decide soon as would have to book flights otherwise. Have looked into it and have found out that;

My own insurance fine for 90 days only.
I would need to bring all my ownership,licence, insurance and registration details with me.

Then I think I will have to re register my EU (GB) car in Latvia, paying some charges to do so and then insure with a local policy.

From what I have read this seems quite do able. I hear insurance is quite cheap and I presume my registration as a foreign national working in Latvia will mean I can do all this.

Is there anything else I should know? Has anyone else had this experience?
