Banking in Rio (Rio de Janeiro)

Hi guys, has anyone opened a bank account locally? I'm hoping someone here can save me the legwork of doing research on this :)

What's the best bank here for foreigners? My instinct would be to first look into HSBC or Citibank, but I heard both are leaving the country. Is there a Brazilian bank that offers good services to foreigners - e.g., good exchange rates, easy transfers from other institutions, low fees?

Also, anyone doing any investing here?

Would appreciate all your good insight and experience :)
