Emmanuel Gilligan Medical/Rehab Expense Fundraiser (Rio de Janeiro)

Many of you probably know Emmanuel Gilligan, an American musician who has lived in Rio since the mid-90s, and/or his band ArizonA, which plays shows of English-language rock-and-roll / pop covers around town. Emannuel was shot in an assalto in early March and is currently paralyzed from the chest down, though, fortunately, he is already showing signs of recovery.

A group of local expat and Brazllian musicians have organized a concert to raise money for Emmanuel's medical and rehabilitation expenses this Friday evening, April 5, from 7 to 10 pm at Jubille Hall of the British School located at Real Grandeza 94 in Botafogo. The suggested entry donation is R$ 20,00 minimum. Soft drinks and beer will be available for purchase, and pizza can be ordered from a nearby restaurant. Confirmed bands include River Country Trio, Bootleg, BeeLiv, Toni Roqueiro e Sette, Bruce Henri, ArizonA, and other local artists.
