Getting married in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro)

Hi everyone,

I will soon be joining my (Brazilian) fiance in Rio and have been looking into how to get married and apply for a residence permit. Some conflicting sources I've found, so if anyone can offer a fast-track summary of what I will need to bring with me (birth certificate notarized by Brazilian embassy in my home country?) and where to go, I would greatly appreciate it!
