Planning Fun Carnival Trip! (Rio de Janeiro)

Hello - I am excited about my upcoming trip to Rio for Carnival with a few friends - a couple guys and couple girls; very fun group of successful and outgoing American professionals originally from Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. Its our first time in Brazil!

Any tips on local Hotels / Sights / Travel and Fun Nightlife during Carnival are VERY MUCH APPRECIATED! Please let me know if you are renting a place that could sleep up to 5 people.

We are looking for new friends (especially English speakers haha), successful professionals, and to experience life like the locals. Please write me if you have any tips.
