Renting with dogs.... (Rio de Janeiro)

Hello all.

My wife and I are moving to Rio on an expat assignment and hope to be in country in th enext 2 months (pending paperwork, of course). Does anyone have experience and/or suggestions for finding housing that allows dogs? I will be working in Centro, but have been told I will have trouble finding anything in the area that will allow dogs. Any guidance or suggestions greatly appreciated.
