science fiction / fantasy book club (Rio de Janeiro)

I have just moved to Rio and I would like to start a science fiction / fantasy book club. I have always enjoyed meeting and just chatting with people about a good book. I thought why not look for people who can share their experiences.
To kick it off I have selected “Oryx and Crake” by Margret Atwood. Atwood is a novelist who at one time was offended at the suggestion that The Handmaid's Tale or Oryx and Crake were science fiction!

The back of the cover reads:-
“Pigs might not fly but they are strangely altered. So, for that matter are wolves and racoons. A man, once named Jimmy, now calls himself Snowman and lives in a tree, wrapped in old bed sheets. The voice of Oryx, the woman he loved, teasingly haunts him. And the green-eyed Children of Crake are, for some reason, his responsibility.”

I have brought two copys of Oryx and Crake which I can share with those who understandably can find a copy.

Hope to see you there.
