Writer visiting Rio and environs from 15th Jan (Rio de Janeiro)

Hi All,
I'll be staying in Rio for a while as of 15th Jan and I wandered (seeing as I've missed this month's Internations event) whether anybody could connect me to er.. well..any body else! Or give me tips for any events. I'm a writer and journalist, British, but originally from Cyprus, and have decided so spend a few weeks or possibly months, depending on how things go, working from Rio.
It would be good to make some connections!
