Missed job opportunity (Riyadh)

Hi all,
This is my very first post here.
I had an opportunity to move to Riyadh but it has "evaporated" at the last minute.
After 3 months of phone/skype interviews and 2 months to get a business Visa, I was finally waiting for the potential employer to send me the tickets to visit the company. Well, yesterday I just received an email saying the the job position I was going to get recruited for has been put on hold and it is now "under review". What a disappointment!
Does this happen often in KSA?
All I can do now is to wait and see if something happens, I won't get my hopes up though.
