Question living in Riaydh (Riyadh)

Hi will move to Riyadh in January, what is the difference by iiving in diplomatic quarter and a compound. I understood that the diplomatic quarter is less restricted than other parts of Riyadh but didnt really understood in what way. Is it comparable to living in a Compound ? Pls explain, anyone who knows
