Riyadh - First Expat Posting

Hello

I am new to the expat world and after accepting my first expat position with a Middle Eastern Consultancy where I will be working out of Riyadh I am glad that I found this community! I am fully aware of how conservative KSA is as a country and with me being a youthful 22 years old I was anxious to find out whether there was a social scene for expats, it appears from reading around this site that there is. I am moving out to Riyadh on 27 June so will be looking into the social side of things once I am in Riyadh.

However, what will be useful now is if I could get some help from people in regards to what to bring over i.e. when you first got out to Riyadh what was the ‘that’ in the ‘Arrghhh I wish I had brought THAT out with me’ thought.

Any other hints/tips of how to adjust to life in Riyadh would also help – Thanks in advance.
