teaching opportunities (Riyadh)

Dear all,
I am a British national female currently living in Tunisia after relocating from Egypt.

I have nearly 2 years experience as a TEFL teacher, teaching English to adults.
Also, I have a Bachelors degree from the UK.
Generally, I teach conversational, formal writing, CV writing and business English which is my specialised field.
I have recently started applying for positions in the Gulf, and see that I meet all the criteria for teaching there.
However, I have questions regarding life there as a British national, I hear that foreigners have to live in compounds, which is something that I am not totally comfortable with as I generally like to choose my own accomodation and live alone.
can someone please advise me as to the situation?
