foreigners buying a flat (Rome)
I am thinking of buying my flat.
First, how much tax/many legal fees are required for foreigners (Canadians)?
NExt, would this be less with a soggiorno?
I was told that Italian first home buyers pay around 3% tax . My landlord seems to think it would be around 10% of the flat in the end.
But I read that foreigns pay even more..another extra 10% tax.
Does having a soggiorno eliminate this extra tax for foreigners?
Next, can someone recommend a reasonably priced lawyer (Italian and/or English speaking) who works near a metro stop?
Much appreciated!!!! Barbara
