Health care coverage/insurance (Rome)

We are moving to Rome in April. My partner is an Italian citizen and has full health coverage, but I need to figure out how I can get affordable health care while living there. I will not be working and will not be covered by an existing U.S. insurance plan. I would greatly appreciate any advice on the best way to handle this. Grazie!
