safe districts in Rome

Hi, could you advise which streets in Rome center are considered to be safe? I'm planning a short trip, and whatever hotel reviews I read there is always somebody saying that surroundings look dangerous due to huge number of the homeless. Don't want to be scared to go out for dinners. Thank you!
