Suggestions for housing and Employment (Rome)

My Italiano is low. I want to do the move to Rome I'm in a catch 22 situation partially because of the language. Is there employment in rome for those low in Italiano whose native tongue is English and if so what type of jobs? I have heard that teaching English is one option however I have taught English to Chinese immagrants and I know that it can be difficult if you are not fluent in the native language of the students...Housing is the next issue...finding an affordable apt until I find work or sharing with a trust worthy person? Suggestions are what I'm seeking.
