seeking work or investment (San Diego)

Hi,
I'm a restaurateur looking to relocate from Calgary, Canada seeking either kitchen work (chef positions) or possibly to explore a possible investment opportunity. I chose SD not only because it is the finest city in the US but also due to working with the finest ingredients all year round would be amazing!!
I would also need to look at work visa options?? and places to stay (Rent) around the Balboa, Cortez, Hillcrest, Mission Hills, Southpark areas.
If anyone has any thoughts or advice, it would be much appreciated if you can share it with me:)
