Euro BF + Moving to SF (San Francisco)

Hiya,

I'm an American/Canadian citizen currently living in Berlin, Germany with my Finnish boyfriend of five years. My boyfriend is getting transferred to SF (Berkeley) via his company (with a company issued visa) and so I will be coming with him.

My question is: can I be covered on his health insurance as a long-term girlfriend / fiancé? What do we need to do to have me considered a domestic-partner for this support, particularly without marriage? -- We have lived together for 3 years now --
