Living in San Francisco/Bay Area v. Seattle

Dear San Franciscans,

Within my two years of living in Seattle, I've met a number of people who moved here from San Francisco/Bay Area (generally motivated by getting a new job and no state tax). Some of them adapt to the culture and not so great weather, some others totally hate it and go back to California.
Have any of you experienced living in both cities? If so, how was your experience like and what made you choose one city over the other?
