Get together in Santa Ana on the 31st (San José)

I would like to attend this event and then perhaps spend the night. I do somewhere near the large mall. I am A COMPLETE NEWBIE to Costa Rica having only moved here 2 weeks ago. My home is in the Carbonal area just outside of Grecia. I don't have a car so I know I'll have to take the bus from Grecia to somewhere in order to get to the hotel. Can anyone advise me of the best way to get there and perhaps the names of reasonably prices hotels close by? I live alone so I'm anxious to meet other x-pats in the area.
