Best (and worst) thing about living in Santigo? (Santiago de Chile)

In preparation for a planned move in a few years, I'd really love to hear what other expats have to say about their experiences moving to and living in Santiago? I know that when I first moved to Shanghai I was blindsided by a number of issues that I never even thought to ask about and I was also delighted by things I never knew existed.
