Expiration of Temporary Residence Visa (Santiago de Chile)

Hello all,

I have a quick question regarding the expiration of Chilean visas and hopefully someone here can help me out.

My temporary residence visa expires on the 6th June Protected content so I was planning to make a quick trip over to Mendoza and then come back on a tourist visa for my final 2 months here.

Does this method work smoothly? Secondly, is there a time period (eg. 1 week, 2 weeks) in which you need to leave the country once your visa has expired or is it before the expirary date?

If anyone could give me some information I would be extremely grateful!
