Just visiting for 6 weeks (Santiago de Chile)

Hello,
Is this an appropriate forum for someone just visiting? I live in US but daughter and husband live in Santiago. I'll be there from July 9 to August 18. The kids will be working and I thought it would be fun to get together with both Chileans and expats. I am 65, newly retired teacher. I hope to be in Santiago on future lengthy stays when grandchildren start arriving. Wishful thinking. If this is not an appropriate site, perhaps someone could advise me on where to look.
