kitesurfing, surfing, snowboarding around Santiago (Santiago de Chile)

Hi there,

I will be staying in Santiago for a 6 month internship starting in April. I love my boardsports but it is going to be a major pain to bring my kitesurfing, surfing and snowboarding equipment by plane from the Netherlands.

So I would like to know how likely it is to get good waves and wind conditions from April-August, how easy is it to get to spots by public transport? Are there any flat water kitespots around Santiago? If so, how gusty is tge wind? I am an advanced kitesurfer, but lightweighted so Protected content is what I like. I am still learning to surf though so 1,5-2m surf is my max for now.

Is it possible to do snowboarding daytrips from Santiago? Any price indications? How easy is this with public transport?
