Round Trip Ticket Needed for entry/tourist Visa??? (Santiago de Chile)

Hi everyone!
My wife and I will be coming to Chile to scout out possible locations to start our business. We plan on using the tourist visa for at least 3 months and then upgrading as needed. However, in order to get the tourist visa or even be allowed in the country, would we need to book a round trip ticket to show at immigration for entry into Chile?

Otherwise, we would book just the one-way ticket and make sure we could extend our visa as needed.

Any info, tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
