Tattoos and Piercings in Chile (Santiago de Chile)

Hi everyone, I'll be moving to Santiago in November and have heard that tattoos and piercings are not quite as common or accepted as they are here in the U.S. Until March I had worked in an office for ten years. I am pretty heavily tattooed and have fairly large ear gauges or plugs as some call them. Ten years ago I was required to wear long sleeves but eventually I was able to wear short sleeves with no issues. My tattoos can be completely concealed with a long sleeve shirt but my ear piercings look a bit strange without jewelry in. Can anyone shed light on this topic? Will my tattoos make it obvious Im an xpat? Will it hinder my job opportunities, ect?
