TV AND DVDs SYSTEMS (Santiago de Chile)

Hi! I am moving to Chile in October and I have read somewhere a LCD-TV got in Europe (PAL system) will not work there. I wondered if I could not get some adaptor-devise. Should not I take the TV with me?
And what about DVDs players? Will a DVD for region 2 (Europe) work in Chile?
Any advice will be more than welcome. I am completely lost with those technical issues. Thank you all in advance!
