Life insurance - terrorism, natural disasters? (São Paulo)

Dear all,

I am moving to London soon and I started to research about Life Insurance. Interestingly, I observed that life insurance from Brazil do not cover terrorism or natural disasters such as earthquakes (may not be case in London but in the case I travel somewhere else).

It seems that for getting a life insurance from a UK company, I would need to be a permanent resident in the UK, which won’t be the case since I will be a PhD student for 3 years.

Does anybody have experience/knowledge of how life insurances work around the world? I want to find something that suits my case.
