Moving to Brazil (São Paulo)

Hi everybody,
my family and we are likely moving to Brazil.
And I'd love to get more informations about the real life in Sao Paulo.
I'm a little bit concerned about the safety and the crime rate as we have a 16 month old toddler.
So who can tell my how life is with kids in Sao Paulo. Are there some mom groups I could join and where could we play the kids together. As I'm a stay at home mom I'm really afraid of getting bored or isolated. I'm a really social person and I love to get in touch with people.
